Scope & Content: Item consists of four Douglas Cloudster model biplanes at Seal Cove as part of a trip around the world by the U.S. Air Service. The planes had just flown from Seattle to Prince Rupert overnight. One of the planes crash landed in Alaska and another landed in the sea between Iceland and Greenland. Handwritten annotation on recto of copies 1, 2 and 3 reads: "1925." Handwritten annotation on recto of copies 2 and 3 reads: "U.S. Air Service - Douglas Cloudsters. Round the World Flight. Seattle - Prince Rupert - Overnight. Four Aircrafts - 1 - Crashed in Alaska. 1. Landed at Sea Between Iceland & Greenland. Apr. 6 - 1924." Stamped annotation on verso of copy 2 reads: "Photo by Jack Wrathall Prince Rupert, B. C."
