The Canadian Legion of the BESL building at 312 3rd Avenue West can be seen in the background. The cowboys are visiting from a rodeo in Telwa, B.C. Handwritten annotation on recto of copy 2 reads: "Cow Girl & Cow Boy - From Telkwa. For Rodeo - on 300 Blk 3rd. Ave." Stamped annotation on verso of copy 2 reads: "Photo by Jack Wrathall Prince Rupert, B. C."
