Scope & Content: Item consists of the a group of women, children and a dog standing in front of the Polar Bear airplane landed in Hazelton, B.C. as part of its flight from Mexico to Siberia. The plane was piloted by Clarence O. Prest and serviced by mechanician L. M. Bach. Pictured, from left to right, is: Connie Cox, Mazel Cox, Thelma Cox, Ella Cox, Mrs. McKay, Thelma Little, Jessie McKay and Marian McKay. The Polar Bear was the first plane to land in Hazelton. Handwritten annotation on recto of copies 2 and 3 reads: "1. Mrs. R. Cox. & 2. Mazel - 3. Thelma - 4. Ella Cox. 5 - 6. Thelma Little. 7 - 8. First Airoplane [sic] to Land at Hazelton, B.C. 1921. H. H. Little." Stamped annotation on verso of copies 2 and 3 reads: "Photo by Jack Wrathall Prince Rupert, B. C."
