History/Biography: Mina Mary Kergin (nee McCaffery) of Toronto came to Prince Rupert with her husband, Dr. Louis Wellington Kergin, in 1912 where he joined his brother Dr. William Thomas Kergin's practice. The couple had three children: Dorothy, a nurse, Edith, and a son, Alan, also a doctor. Louis died in September 1954 shortly after retiring, while Mina passed away on March 12, 1962 in New Westminster.
