Scope & Content: Item consists of the wreck of the biplane Polar Bear after it crashed at Hazelton during its Mexico to Siberia Round the World Flight. The Polar Bear was piloted by Clarence O. Prest and serviced by L. M. Bach. Both Prest and Bach survived the crash. Handwritten annotation on recto of copies 1, 2 and 3 reads: "The Wreck of the 'Polar Bear' Prince Rupert, B.C. Sep 28, 1921. Photo W.W.W." Handwritten annotation on recto of copies 2 and 3 reads: "Mexico to Siberia." Stamped annotation on verso of copies 1, 2 and 3 reads: "Photo by Jack Wrathall Prince Rupert, B. C."
