Sand bags are piled up to the right of the structure during World War II. Handwritten annotation on recto of copy 2 reads: "Victory Bond Sale. 400 Blk. 3rd. Ave. W. Feb. 22 - 1942. Pr. Rupert, B.C." Stamped annotation on verso of copy 2 reads: "Photo by Jack Wrathall Prince Rupert, B. C."
