It was used as an elementary school until Booth Memorial was built in 1921, then used as a high school until 1938 when King Edward and Booth reversed positions and King Edward again became an elementary school. The original school was torn down ca. 1948 and a new school built on the same site in 1950 was officially opened on November 14, 1951. An addition was built in 1963.
